Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. She also is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. After moving into England from Greece when she was 16 She earned an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. She was the first person non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she graduated. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered an honest assessment of the current politics. Her fame and popularity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of their media company that also includes other AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. In her early years she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. In 1972, her master's in Economics was conferred. The career of a journalist and television host started after her graduation. She also appeared in the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
