Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actress born of Spanish as well as Lebanese parents, is Mexican. The family she was born into was an affluent Roman Catholic family from Mexico. As a young girl, she watched the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. When she attended Mexico City's "Universidad Iberoamericana," she was ready to join the film industry. Her first production was the Mexican film, 'El coronel no Tien Quien Escriba,' which was Mexico's official entry to Oscars, in the Best Foreign Film category. She also served as the director of the 'Ugly Betty.' The show was awarded Outstanding Guest Actress (Comedy Show) for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. The actress has also been a spokesperson for brands like 'Revlon' and 'Avon as well as launched her own collection of makeup, skincare and hair care products dubbed 'Nuance.' She is a supporter of the campaign for funding vaccines for neonatal and maternal tetanus.
